Golf Nation adds Scoring Zone, Loyola U. Golf Team
New outdoor practice area focuses on keys to low golf scores.
Palatine, IL, June 24, 2008 True or false: 65% of your score in a typical round of golf comes from shots within 70 yards of the hole? ABSOLUTELY TRUE says Golf Nation’s lead instructor and Top 50 Teacher Todd Sones.
The just opened Scoring Zone at Golf Nation provides the area’s most unique facility to help golfers lower their scores. It features (8) distinct stations, all within 70 yards of the hole, to work on shots that actually effect how well you play. The 2,900 sq. ft. green has multiple pin locations and golfers can practice the Bump & Run, Toss Shots, Sand Blasts, Over Hazard Shots, various Wedge Shots and Putting.
“I really like that a player can work around the Scoring Zone in almost a circuit training manner. There is probably no better way to lower your score than to improve on shots from 70 yards and in” says veteran teacher Todd Sones who helped design the Scoring Zone at Golf Nation. Home of the Ramblers Loyola University’s Golf Team began using the Club early this year and recently selected Golf Nation as their winter home. Head Coach Adam Kwiatkoski will bring his team out twice a week throughout the cold weather months to keep the Ramblers sharp. “We’re very pleased to have Loyola call Golf Nation home” says Tim Wuhrman, Golf Nation’s GM. “It’s ideal because they use the Club during our quiet times and it’s nice for the players to be able to improve throughout the year.”
